Option 1: Transfer to Hilo via airports on other islands.
Fly to Hilo from other airports (Honolulu on Oahu, Kahului on Maui, or Lihue on Kauai). Several flights are offered daily
with Aloha Airlines (1-800-367-5250) or Hawaiian Airlines (1-800-367-5320). Hale Nahele is only a 30 minute drive from the
Hilo airport.
Option 2: Fly direct to Kona from North America and Asia.
Hale Nahele is a 2 hour scenic drive from Kona, half way around the Island of Hawaii, "the Big Island", via
either the northern or southern routes. You will have the opportunity to view the other half when you return to Kona.
Special car rental rates and inter-island flight coupons are available from both Hawaiian and Aloha airlines, upon request.
Rental cars at special rates can be secured when you make your flight reservations.
Airport shuttle
We offer transportation (from Hilo only) for $40 one way, or $20 per person if more than one traveler. We try to combine
whenever possible. A regular taxi costs about $70. Let us know at least one week in advance if you require an airport pickup;
the cancellation policy is 24 hours notice.
